My childhood and adolescence have come back to embrace me: i had the immense pleasure of photographing the LEGO headquarters in Billund and meeting one of my heroes from my graffiti days: Futura 2000. To celebrate Ninjago’s 15th anniversary, Lego collaborated with none other than Futura 2000—Leonard Hilton McGurr, a New York artist and a legendary figure in the world of graffiti writing. In Billund, he met with the Ninjago designers, explored the archives, and witnessed a project come to life from sketch to finished product. This collaboration culminated in the “Ninja of Futura”: a 3D artwork that blends Pointman’s elongated silhouette with the world of Ninjago.
